
In 2018, the State of Alabama became the first state in the US mandating youth sports coaches to be annually trained in injury prevention and recognition to safe guard their athletes aged 14 and under.
Since then, legislators in other states have worked to introduce and adopt similar mandates and resolutions. Currently, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Arkansas have adopted mandates and resolutions regarding youth coaches training. Additionally, several other states are currently working to construct and adopt similar legislation.
